I feel I’ve let everyone down today, and must apologize for being so late in posting anything. People have begun second-guessing what I post on this anniversary, and the last week or so I’ve just been so busy that I didn’t manage to get a post together until now. I’ve been giving advice to Joel Osteen about his plans for a new video venue. We’ve been looking at the new holographic technology, but there’s a great concern that the hologram won’t be able to credibly shake people’s hands after the message. As a result, we’ve been negotiating with Tim Allen’s people about having Mr. Allen stand in for Joel at the new venue. We’ve reached an agreement on the hair dye, but Mr. Allen is balking at Joel’s demand for a wee bit of surgical tweaking of the nose. Will try to keep you posted. These show-biz types can be pretty demanding, so negotiations have been no picnic, let me tell you.
Why is Brother Maynard scared to be identified?
The prosperity gospel is another Gospel. Do the preachers that are sugary sweet with their multi million dollar/ pound incomes and their big houses and expence accounts hidden as “staff costs” really expect to be taken seriously?Jesus didnt have anywhere to lay his head, he spoke about the poor and he didnt have a denarius to his name. What is really missing in the Church is giving rather than taking not indentifying with the latest Preacher whose growing church looks outwardly sucessful, with its mind over matter teaching.
You obviously haven’t read much on this site… I would encourage you to read more here and then re-evaluate your first point and reconsider the necessity of making your second point with me. Just sayin’.
“To Clarify the journey”-Are your observations about the state of the Church.
The above is my reply, I get monthly requests from a preacher who does very nicely from the ministry, to add to his fortune. The prosperity Gospel is another gospel, how can preachers say they are concerned about the poor who sometimes live just across the street, with their ministry generated wealth? Jesus didn’t come to be sucessful he came and lived as a servant.
Brother Maynard, at least you were doing something productive. :)
Nice one Brother Maynard – since Christianity has become more show business than spirituality it’s not surprising that Tim would be willing to make the transition!!
