It does kind of change your theological focus to think of living missionally, doesn't it? Robert Mulholland says "spiritual formation is the process of being conformed to the image of Christ for the sake of others." (Invitation to a Journey: A Road Map to Spiritual Formation) We can't really practice the spiritual disciplines with the sole intent of personal growth...becoming like Christ mandates that we live as he did...missionally! I also loved the point that the implication of "mission" is an incursion where the implication of "missional" is incarnation. Great points!! Love this discussion!
