Another new year dawns. As before, I have hopes but do not make resolutions based on some pressurized motivation of the calendar. Motivation for change comes from within, not from the simple realization that you’re dating your cheques differently. Hope is another matter. I have no knowledge of what the future holds… though we hall have hopes of what it could bring. For 2008, what might we hope? What dare we hope?

For peace, we might pray.

May the peace of Christ be with you; may this be a year of shalom for those you love and for those who love you. And may it be a year in which the world sees, finally, an increase of the peace it so desperately needs.
