Sheryl,

Sorry, I don't know about the photo -- you would have to contact Leadership magazine, though it's most likely a stock photo, so they may not know either.

To interpret the dream, it is more likely that it would be associated with the content of this issue of the journal than with the specific geographical place from the photo.

In reference to the cover on the "Leadership" magazine with the road leading to a hole in the aqua concrete wall, please tell me where that picture was taken where is that road and what city is behind it? I had a dream of standing on that road and would like to confirm its whereabouts

Recently at my church we were asked to invite in a new dawn of Biblical understanding- among these suggestions where 2 books that come to mind-' the leaders and elders where asked to read " leading like Jesus, " as well as", The Shaping of things to come".
1.There is also a lot of pressure on being a Missional Church-
2.Thoughts that the Cross is to devicive and that the empty tomb is the real message
3. something called Solace for the soul- "very much like contemplative prayer.
4. leaders leaving suddenly

but even with these concerns, the sunday message is so good.

What does anyone think

please email me more about this word missional" I think we should all be on a mission...but not at the cost of watering down GOd

I personally think "missional" has a rather specific (if somewhat complex) meaning. I added a few comments at the Wikipedia discussion page about the definition.

Well, "submit" crashed FF the first time, so now I'm retyping this from memory and will copy before I submit....

I'm going to be simplistic, too - In my mind "missional" means "going out" and "programmatic" means "drawing in". Not sure how someone can confuse the two.

I do have a question for you, though. Labels like this tend to frustrate me because there ends up being so much debate about the meaning, i.e. "emergent/ing". It seems we keep searching for a label that is not a label - more like an "umbrella" idea or concept that loosely covers us but is flexible and mobile. But "others" demand a "brick and mortar" definition for our umbrellas - wanting to see us build four walls around our mobile and flexible shelter - to make it something stationary or permanent...So then we comply, feeling pressured to define something which really defies description - after all, the definition of "emerging" or "missional" is more experiential and contextual than concrete, isn't it?

How can we (or can we?) avoid being forced to "brick and mortar" our "umbrellas"? Does that make any sense?

It could be that I'm over-simplifying ... but ... I think that the word missional is a very holistic term that carries a view of how a person or community lives rather than a plan or program to carry out. It's a term that encompasses a world view, not a program ... so I'm really confused as to how it could be equated with program/purpose driven in the first place?

If someone says to me that they are missional ... I hear that they are trying to let the mission of God guide every part of their life, not that they participate in a program. Or have I been wrong all this time?
