I can’t begin to explain the jealousy over how Greg Glatz nabs free tickets for Van Morrison tonight. One of the major news stories in town today is how the scalpers scooped all the good tickets for this event.
Postmodern Pilgrims: A wild night …

Hey Bro: the concert was great. Nice to see Van in top form (doesn’t always happen), and his band was fantastic. Here’s a clip from the Winnipeg Sun review – says it all:
A brassy trumpet solo lifted Whinin’ Boy Moan skyward, a heavenly scat solo shot Little Village even higher and by the time Morrison dropped his froggy growl down to a whisper on the blue-collar hymn Cleaning Windows and then fired it back up again for a Be-Bop-a-Lula refrain at the end, it was as if the show had been transformed into some sort of classic rock church service, with the Celtic iconoclast serving as preacher and saviour.
Quite an “offering” they collected at this church service. Scalpers aside, I’m guessing ticket sales easily surpassed $1 million. Hmmm … we already have the B3 ….
