One of the reasons I like getting together with The Old Bill is that every time we chat, I learn something… because Bill Millar has seen just about everything, I think. He introduces his moving account of Robertson’s Last Christmas Pageant by saying, “This is a true story that grew out of my experiences as an Interim or Transitional Minister in Winnipeg for 11 years. It really did happen just like this.” An intro like that makes you want to read on, which is something I’d recommend.
[I] looked down to see what Mary and Joseph had been doing. ….
My eyes filled with tears. I called Karen, who was still in the church, to show her. We’d been visited. Holy visitors had come among us. Even the sniffling shepherd might have been an angel incognito.
