Good little post by Scot McKnight on his meeting with Spencer Burke; pseudo-universalism and Burke’s new book and a little piece of “Emergicana.” I wonder what other pieces could be nominated for the Emergicana Hall of Fame besides Spencer Burke’s garage…. Doug Pagitt’s first “pulpit”? Andrew Jones’ first Mac? Brian McLaren’s writing desk?

Why stop there.. let’s wade a bit further back in the century.. a cigar butt from CS Lewis, a copy of Jim Wallis “Call to Conversion,” Gordon Cosby’s coffee mug from the Church of the Savior.. I think these are all “pre-emergent” folks who were thinking through issues of the gospel and culture and justice before it was the “in” place to be..
