Classic TV Theme Songs

Will Samson has a list of his Top Ten Classic TV Theme Songs along with a link to a huge archive of more of them. Not to quibble with Will’s list, but what about
M*A*S*H
All in the Family
Happy Days
The Andy Griffith Show
and, I don’t know, Simon & Simon.

I would however agree with
Cheers
WKRP in Cincinnati
Dukes of Hazzard
Chico and the Man
Welcome Back, Kotter
The Partridge Family
Hawaii Five-O

All of these in no particular order, of course.

Excellent, Bill! Hockey Night in Canada is an excellent addition. I once heard on CBC a clip where someone had taken the national anthem and interwoven it with the Hockey Night theme song… priceless! (And quite true.) If we’re looking for Canadiana though, don’t forget The Beachcombers. Or the words that ring in my ear,

When he walks down the street,
    he smiles at eeeeveryoooone,
    everyone that he meeeeets,
    because he’s King of Kensington…

    What a guy!
