I want to say the answer is Guinness, and I figure that’d probably be right. We had quite a good time at our disorganized and disenfranchised theology pub night this evening. For a while, we even talked about theological subjects. We talked about the Emergent.ca controversy of the day, and we answered the question of what a missional emerging church would look like with, “Like this.” We resonated, we resounded, we decided we wanted to do it again. We decided to take some of the conversation online, to email and then probably to blog posts.
And when I got home, there was Scot McKnight directing me to go and read a post on John Frye’s blog.
WWJD: Where would Jesus drink? I also recommend you read a post on John Frye’s blog. Jesus is having an emerging conversation.
Hey bro,
It was great. Finding it tough to connect in our community and busy life, tonight was a well needed boost for me.
Peace,
Jamie
Hey brother,
It was so good for me to share a pint with you folks last night. I
really enjoyed the conversation, encouragement and look forward to
more opportunities to engage.

Norm was there?!
Did Cliff show up also? :)
No, the part of the slightly misguided antisocial know-it-all was played by well, all of us, actually!
I do however forsee a moment at the next gathering when Norm walks in…
My conscience bears witness that Jesus would probably better enjoy the sweet nectar of a Newcastle. However, Guinness for strength, eh?
Hey Norm, thanks for speaking up! It was good to meet you, and I hope you can make the next rendevous!
Maynard, it was great to finally put a name to the face – and I’m glad I was wrong in my guess about your secret identity!
Cheers,
